Trevor Noah has made his debut on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in the US last night.
Noah joins the cast of the Emmy Award-winning late night show which has helped launch the careers of some of the world’s most famous comedians.
He has taped the first of his episode as a contributor to the show yesterday in New York.
Noah has been steadily making a name for himself in the US with the release of his African-American special on Netflix and his appearances on the Jay Leno and David Letterman shows.
Noah posted a picture of himself on Facebook with Jon Stewart saying “Tonight I lived a dream. Thank you Jon Stewart and The Daily Show and everybody that watched my debut on the show”.
On 6 January 2012 Noah became the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on The Tonight Show and on 17 May 2013, he became the first to appear on Late Show with David Letterman.
