A brand new "Educational, Interactive Maps and Sightings" App has just been released by Honeyguide Publications covering the Kruger National Park, Etosha National Park and The Zululand & Maputaland Wildlife Reserves in KwaZulu-Natal including Hluhluwe iMfolozi Game Reserve, iSimangaliso Wetland Park, uMkhuze Game Reserve, Tembe Elephant Park, Ndumo Game Reserve and Ithala Game Reserve.
Users will be able to upload sightings and to view latest sightings by other users as well as access customised personal bird and mammal lists. There are mammal, bird and even tree lists with information customised for each region including photographs and paintings for identification, distribution maps, spoor, key facts and information.
It also has useful tips such as distance tables, reserve and Resort information and a Facebook link to upload sightings images and videos.
In order to ensure that this App does not contribute to congestion and rushing to sightings in the Kruger National Park lion and leopard sightings loaded will reflect instantly on your device but will be delayed for synching to other users. All other bird and mammal sightings will synch immediately when your device is in range of a cell phone tower.
All rhino sightings can be logged on your own device but will be completely blocked from synching to protect their locations.
The full interactive features are available by monthly or annual subscription from the Google Playstore.
IOS to follow soon.
